The heritage of India is vast and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is very popular in India. It is located in Andhra Pradesh and the Dravidian style architecture fascinates every tourist who comes to pay a visit to the sacred temples in South India. A visit to this temple will be memorable for everyone and most of us can’t really forget the mad rush, continuous chanting, secured premises, idols, and sculptures with detailed work and the divine surroundings. So we all know how marvelous Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is and it’s good to know what other famous and powerful temples are in and around the location to make your next trip worthwhile. I have enquired with several cars travels companies about the Tirupati tour package from Chennai and not every travel agency has this on their travel agenda. So, make sure you are signing up with a travel company that shows every important temple at a reasonable charge.
Sri Kalahasthi temple
Whenever you are planning to visit Tirupati, plan your schedule accordingly so that you never miss out to visit the most powerful and sacred Lord Shiva’s stalam – Sri Kalahasthi temple. It is just an hour’s distance from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and is commonly known as “Pancha bhootha stalam” and it represents one of the five nature elements’ – wind.
Padmavathi Temple
It’s customary to first stop at Goddess Lakshmi’s sacred and very fascinating Padmavathi Temple. As per the Puranas, Goddess Lakshmi wedded Lord Venkateshwara in Kali Yugam and it’s believed that it’s one of the reasons why the temple is at a very close distance. Padma Sarovaram is a large lake where Goddess Lakshmi appeared in front of Lord Venkateshwara on a lotus flower. And it’s considered divine to take a bath in this lake with complete devotion.
Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple
Also notable as Srinivasa Managapuram, the Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple is a renowned temple of religious and national importance. The story of this temple is absolutely impressive, as it is believed that the Lord Venkateshwara incarnated at this stalam to instill harmony in kali yuga. With the yagam hosted by devoted sages, the Lord Venkateshwara is said to have blessed this holy temple.
